There are no plans to bring any future games from the “Tales” series to the Xbox One, according to producer Hideo Baba. Tales of Vesperia was the only game from the series released on the Xbox 360 and recently released Tales of Xillia was a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Its sequel, Tales of Xillia 2 will also be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Fans of the series on the PlayStation 3 will also get Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, an HD remake of the original title.
Namco Bandai will continue working on more games for the series and the team is already currently in the early phases of work on PlayStation 4 titles. According to Baba, Namco Bandai feels that its core player base is loyal to the PlayStation platform, so the company will continue focusing its efforts there. In other words, Tales of Vesperia was not a hot seller in Japan, where the Xbox 360 doesn’t exactly compete on the same level as the Sony PlayStation.
