No Man’s Sky has had one hell of a journey through its seven years of existence. The game launched to mediocre reviews after a lot of marketing hype, with some critics saying that No Man’s Sky didn’t deliver on many of its promises. But developer Hello Games persisted through the years and No Man’s Sky’s turnaround is almost as historic as Final Fantasy XIV’s with A Realm Reborn.
To celebrate the game’s seventh anniversary, Hello Games has released a short montage video highlighting all of No Man’s Sky’s major updates. The video ends with a teaser for the next one: Echoes. It’s truly remarkable the support Hello Games has invested into No Man’s Sky since its launch, with many believing the game now does deliver on many of its ambitious ideas.
The game’s latest update, Singularity, launched on June 7. While Hello Games doesn’t have a typical interval for releasing major updates, this tease for Echoes likely has to do with Starfield’s imminent release. The two games are likely going to be very different from one another, but it’s hard not to compare the two.
