The Nintendo Switch 2 made its full debut on April 2, revealing a June 5, 2025 launch date. At the time, preorders were announced to begin on April 9, but Nintendo was forced to delay them because of tariffs put in place by the Trump Administration. Since then, there has been plenty of speculation about whether Nintendo would be forced to raise the price of the console and when preorders would actually open. We finally have the answers.
The Nintendo Switch 2 pricing in the U.S. will remain the same at $449.99 for the console and $499.99 for the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. Despite the controversy surrounding the pricing of Mario Kart World, it will remain at $79.99, and Donkey Kong Bananza will also be $69.99. However, pricing for various Switch 2 accessories will be adjusted because of changes in market conditions. Nintendo also said that adjustments to the price of any Nintendo product are possible in the future, depending on market conditions.
Those still interested in getting their hands on the Switch 2 on launch date will want to keep their browsers ready on April 24. Check with your preferred retailer to see the time preorders will open. Don’t forget, you can also register your interest at the My Nintendo Store for a chance to preorder.
