Blizzard Entertainment is teasing a new Overwatch hero on its official Twitter account, posting a communications record from Angela Ziegler, who is Mercy. The record is addressed to Soldier: 76 and Reaper, detailing a rifle that Mercy has concerns about. “I would like to remind everyone that my intention when agreeing to the development of different biotic delivery mechanisms was to save the lives of Overwatch agents and others in need of medical aid,” Mercy says in the record. “With this latest proposal, it is clear to me that we are on the slippery slope to modifications that will inevitably result in a weaponized version of this technology: something that I have been completely opposed to from the beginning.”

The gun is designed by Torbjorn, who claims that the rifle is intended to only be used for healing – but we all know what happens with intentions.

Prior to Overwatch’s release, there were rumors that a new character would be added called Sombra, who would play the role of a sniper healer. This teaser certainly points in that direction.
