The new Nintendo 3DS was revealed last August and features larger screens, better battery life, additional shoulder buttons and a second analog pad called the C-stick. The handheld console will also have better hardware than the existing 3DS and there will be games exclusive to the new 3DS that will not be playable on the current model, including the already announced Xenoblade Chronicles.
