The July 2013 NPD has been released, and NCAA Football 14 (X360, PS3) was the top-selling game last month, based on new physical retail sales only. The Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling console while Microsoft has announced that it sold 107,000 Xbox 360 units last month. Overall, video game sales were down 19 percent in July 2013 to a total of $443 million, but let’s remember that it doesn’t take into account digital downloads. Needless to say, the Steam Summer Sale contributed to the drop in physical retail sales, since gamers were spending their hard-earned dollars online. Here’s the rest of the list for the top 10 selling games from July 2013:

  • 2. Minecraft (X360)
  • 3. The Last of Us (PS3)
  • 4. Call of Duty: Black Ops II (X360, PS3, Wii U, PC)
  • 5. Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS)
  • 6. Far Cry 3 (X360, PS3, PC)
  • 7. Battlefield 3 (X360, PS3, PC)
  • 8. Injustice: Gods Among Us (X360, PS3, Wii U)
  • 9. NBA 2K13 (X360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, PSP, PC)
  • 10. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (X360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, Vita, PC)
