Earlier this year, Magic: The Gathering launched its Final Fantasy Universes Beyond set, which caused quite the frenzy. We got caught up in it as well, spending way more money than we should have on cardboard. Final Fantasy was officially Magic’s biggest set release in history, delivering $200 million in revenue in a single day. So, it’s little surprise Wizards of the Coast has announced even more for this holiday season, with additional products launching on December 5, 2025.
Many expected this, since the same approach was used with The Lord of the Rings set. For the new drop, there will be some cards from the original release with new treatments, along with new-to-Magic cards that capture iconic moments from the franchise. The new products include four Scene Boxes, a Chocobo Bundle, and the Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck: Game Edition.
The four Scene Boxes cover the original Final Fantasy with “Garland at The Chaos Shrine,” Final Fantasy VIII with “Children of Fate,” Final Fantasy IX with “The Siege of Alexandria,” and Final Fantasy XV with “Camp Comrades.” Each Scene Box includes six foil borderless scene cards, six art cards, three play boosters, and one display easel. They’re individually priced at $41.99.

Collectors will need to get their hands on the Chocobo Bundle, though. Each bundle includes the following:
- 10 Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Play Boosters
- 32 FINAL FANTASY landmark basic lands
- 16 Non-foil FINAL FANTASY landmark basic lands
- 16 Traditional foil FINAL FANTASY landmark basic lands
- 10 Chocobo track foil basic lands
- 2 of 20 Chocobo track foil borderless Chocobo Bundle cards
- 1 Traditional foil promo card
- Birds of Paradise as “Paradise Chocobo”
- 1 of 24 Non-foil cards from Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Scene Boxes
- 1 Chocobo-themed click wheel
The borderless Chocobo Bundle cards and Chocobo Track Foil cards are selected from Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy and its Commander decks and feature new artwork by Japanese artists and illustrators. Many of the cards incorporate chocobos into their artwork and feature an all-new card treatment called Chocobo Track Foil. There is one borderless Chocobo Bundle card that isn’t from the main set or Commander decks: Snapcaster Mage. It’ll be part of the Final Fantasy Commander (FIC) set.
There are also 20 different borderless Chocobo Bundle cards, which appear at equal rates and are all in Chocobo Track Foil. In addition, each bundle includes 10 Chocobo Track Foil lands (two of each basic land type) with new artwork. Each Chocobo Bundle is priced at $109.99 retail.
Finally, there’s the Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck: Game Edition. This deck includes a brand new promo card and an online download code for the original Final Fantasy VII game. The deck itself, though, is mechanically identical to its original release. The Game Edition Commander Deck costs $99.99.
