One of my favorite roguelike deckbuilders, Monster Train 2, continues to deliver free content since it left the station in May. In September, the Lost Arsenal free update arrived with new clanless equipment, room cards, and a plethora of balance changes. Now, players can look forward to Echoes From the Void on November 5, which adds two new boss encounters, Dimensional challenges, Celestial Alcove events, 55 new mutators, unique clanless artifacts, and more that should really change up gameplay. We’ll have to wait until closer to launch to get the full patch notes, but it’s great to see continued support for the game.
If you somehow missed Monster Train 2 earlier this year, it’s a must-play if you’re a fan of the roguelike deckbuilding genre. The sequel builds on everything that made the first game so addictive, and it’s better in every way. As I mentioned in my review, it’s essentially the perfect sequel by understanding what fans loved about Monster Train and delivering more of it. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
