Monster Hunter Wilds has confirmed that Title Update 3, which includes the previously announced Final Fantasy XIV collaboration, arrives on September 29. The collaboration will pit hunters against Omega Planetes, joined by visitors from the world of Eorzea. Those who have played Final Fantasy XIV will recognize Omega from the Stormblood Omega raids, and I’m overjoyed to see the adorable Alpha making an appearance.
What’s more interesting about the crossover is the addition of two jobs from Final Fantasy XIV: the Dark Knight and Pictomancer. The Dark Knight class was introduced with the Heavensward expansion and is a tank class wielding a two-handed sword. Meanwhile, the Pictomancer is the latest addition to the MMORPG as a DPS class introduced in Dawntrail. Players will be able to take on the role of a Dark Knight by equipping the Bale Armor α and activating the “Soul of the Dark Knight” series skill to unlock “The Blackest Night” ability. Equipping the “Shadowbringer” Great Sword will unlock an exclusive weapon skill. Similarly, equipping the “Soul of the Pictomancer” will enable hunters to cast pictomancy spells, including Pom Motif, from their item pouch. The crossover will also bring new Palico and Seikret gear, along with new cosmetic rewards like a pendant and a gesture.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 also adds Arch-tempered Nu Udra as a permanent Event Quest, new quests offering rarity 8 Artian materials, a limited-time Seregios Challenge Quest, and an Arch-tempered Nu Udra Free Challenge Quest. Players will get four nostalgic gestures as free DLC, and Cosmetic DLC Pack 3 and other paid DLC will release as well.
The trailer also teased Title Update 4, which will add Gogmazios to the Forbidden Lands when it launches in December 2025. Before then, though, fall will bring the Festival of Accord: Dreamspell, with a Halloween theme taking over the Grand Hub.
As a fan of both Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV, I’m very much looking forward to the collaboration as the Omega raid series was one of my favorites. As a group, we enjoyed our time with Monster Hunter Wilds earlier this year, but performance issues on PC really kept us from playing the game long-term, as we normally would with a Monster Hunter title. As for Final Fantasy XIV, the latest expansion, Dawntrail, did little to change up the formula after the amazing conclusion in Endwalker.
