To that portion of the internet that was confident Metroid Prime 4: Beyond would be pushed to 2026, Nintendo wants to have a word. In today’s Nintendo Direct, the company revealed that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is launching on December 4, 2025, on both Switch and Switch 2. The reveal was accompanied by a new trailer, which had us wondering if Samus was also getting her own racing game, since it showed her riding a stylish two-wheeler. The latest Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer keeps the game mysterious with no voiceover, which sets it apart from the rest of the Nintendo Direct announcements.

We do know that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has Samus Aran landing on Viewros after a clash with the deadly sharpshooter Sylux. The bike she’s seen riding in the trailer is called Vi-O-La and will assist Samus in surviving and escaping Viewros.

Along with announcing the game’s release date, Nintendo shared that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond amiibo figures are on the way. The first is just Samus, while the second is a Samus & Vi-O-La amiibo. Both will be available on November 6, while the Sylux amiibo will launch on December 4 with the game. Details on the amiibo functionality within the game will be announced at a later date.

Unfortunately, those hoping for Metroid Prime 2 and Prime 3 Remastered will have to wait longer, assuming they’re really a thing. Nintendo only announced a Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective book, which releases on October 28. The book will feature concept drawings and behind-the-scenes illustrations from Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Metroid Prime Remastered.
