Metaphor: ReFantazio’s first birthday is coming up, and Atlus is celebrating with developer Studio Zero via a special livestream. Set to stream on Atlus West’s YouTube page on October 10 at 9:00 PM Pacific (October 11, 12:00 AM Eastern), the event will hopefully include a surprise announcement or two. The safe bet would be a Switch 2 port or an anime adaptation, while those hoping for a sizable DLC announcement, like the Persona games, will likely be disappointed.

Those in the Los Angeles area can also head to Round1 Bowling & Arcade at the Burbank Town Center for a one-day event to celebrate the game’s birthday. It starts at 7:00 PM Pacific, and the event is free of charge, although online tickets are no longer available. Tickets guaranteed special items and access to voice actor signings, but those without a ticket can still enjoy the general festivities. The event will have two voice actor meet & greet sessions, as well as a featured program (livestream) and a raffle for prizes. Attending the voice actor meet & greet are Caleb Yen (Protagonist), Alejandra Reynoso (Gallica), and Greg Chun (More).

When it released last year, Metaphor: ReFantazio became Atlus’s fastest-selling game after moving over one million units worldwide shortly after launch. Available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Metaphor: ReFantazio builds on the Persona formula while leaving the high school setting behind. In my review, I called Metaphor: ReFantazio one of those rare games you wish didn’t have to end, an epic adventure with a lovable cast, a memorable story, and a properly written villain.
