At long last, Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games has resurfaced, and we even got to see gameplay in today’s trailer. Before we get into that, though, Insomniac Games revealed that Liam McIntyre is taking on the role of the titular character. McIntyre is an Australian actor best known for his lead role in Spartacus: Vengeance and Spartacus: War of the Damned, and he looks great in the part. Considering Marvel’s Wolverine is coming from the same team behind Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s no surprise that everything we saw today looks great, especially the visceral and violent combat. X-Men fans will also be excited to see a glimpse of Mystique, Red Omega, and the iconic Sentinels.

As expected, combat will revolve around Wolverine’s razor-sharp adamantium claws, and Insomniac teased a rage-type mechanic that can build up on the battlefield. It looks like it’ll be more focused on fast, fluid, and rapid attacks than in Spider-Man. What’s exciting is that Wolverine will be a global adventure, taking Logan to the island nation of Madripoor, the wilderness of Canada, and even the city streets of Tokyo.

While the wait has been painful, it’s great that we’ve finally seen gameplay, and we’ll get more information about Marvel’s Wolverine in spring 2026.
