Marvel Rivals continues to perform well on the Steam charts after topping the charts with 480,900 concurrent users at launch. The game consistently has over 300,000 concurrent players and doesn’t show signs of slowing down. To keep the hype train going, Marvel Rivals has confirmed that the first family of the Marvel Universe, the Fantastic Four, is joining the lineup. It gave a teaser image showing all the familiar faces including Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Thing, and Mister Fantastic, of course. A trailer will be released showcasing the team on January 6 at 8:00 AM Pacific (11:00 AM Eastern).

From NetEase Games, Marvel Rivals launched globally on December 6 and currently sits with a Very Positive rating with 125,386 user reviews. It’s a team-based PvP shooter featuring all your favorite Marvel heroes and villains, with gameplay heavily influenced by Overwatch. To differentiate itself, though, Marvel Rivals also features Team-Up skills and destructible environments. Last year, 2024, wasn’t kind to many live service games, with titles like XDefiant announcing its shutdown and Concord getting axed shortly after its launch. Despite all that, Marvel Rivals is proof that players will engage with live service titles; the game just needs to be fun and have characters they connect with.
