Nintendo and Mario had a pleasant surprise to everyone on board a Southwest Airlines flight to Dallas today. The iconic character gave everyone on the flight a free Wii U console, which will undoubtedly be a very cost-efficient marketing move for Nintendo. The Wii U has been struggling on the market, and considering both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are now available, Nintendo is finding clever ways to get the Wii U back on the news.

The move is a great one for the console and not only gets free Wii U systems into households, but parents will now have to shell out some dollars on software this holiday season. But best of all are the smiles on people’s faces from every age group. There’s just something Nintendo and Mario simply does better than any other video game character in the world.
