After making its debut earlier this year at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight announced its release date during The Game Awards 2025: May 29, 2026. Heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the release date was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing the game’s heroes and villains. Joining Batman in the fight to save Gotham City yet again are Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Talia al Ghul, Jim Gordon, and Catwoman, while on the opposite side of the aisle are Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Firefly, Mr. Freeze, The Joker, The Penguin, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.
Developer TT Games and publisher Warner Bros. Games also shared a bit of information on the game’s main story campaign. As expected, it’ll cover Bruce Wayne’s journey from origin to legend, which includes training with The League of Shadows, becoming the hero of Gotham City, forging a new family of allies, and more. The game will feature 100 different suits and outfits across the playable characters, over 20 vehicles, and over 250 Batcave props and trophies.
Preorders are now open, and those who preorder will receive The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit at launch. There’s an $89.99 Deluxe Edition that adds the Legacy Collection with over 30 launch-day items across three themed content packs. Each pack comes with seven new seats, one new Batmobile, and a set of five Batcave props. You’ll also get the Mayhem Collection in September 2026, which adds a new Mayhem Mode featuring The Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters, along with a new story mission featuring the two breaking out of Arkham Asylum. The Mayhem Collection also includes the Sinister Pack, with seven new suits, one new Batmobile, and a set of five Batcave customization props. Deluxe Edition preorders also continue a trend I’m starting to hate: granting 72-hour early access to the game.
