If anyone needed a sign that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is two weeks away, Warner Bros. Games just dropped a launch trailer set to “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal, the Grammy-winning song that anchored the Batman Forever soundtrack back in 1995. It’s an interesting way to remind us of just how old we are, leaning on a generation’s worth of Batman nostalgia, and it does a nice job of framing Bruce Wayne’s journey from origin to legend through new cinematic and gameplay moments.

The trailer features Batman fighting alongside Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul, with The Joker, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane making up the villain side. As we noted when the game first debuted at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, TT Games is leaning into a more focused playable cast this time around with deeper gameplay systems and clear inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was one of our most anticipated games of 2026, and I’m ready for it.

All preorders include The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit at launch, with the Deluxe Edition still offering 72-hour early access starting May 19, a trend I’m not a fan of. Players can also unlock the Golden Age Batsuit by signing up for a Warner Bros. Games account. Four new LEGO DC Batman sets are available now and each includes redeemable in-game digital content: the Batman Logo set unlocks an exclusive gold Batsuit, while The Batman Batmobile, Batman v Superman Batmobile, and Batman & Robin Batmobile sets add in-game playable versions of each vehicle plus exclusive gold variants. Just be aware those gold variants are only available through buying the LEGO sets.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), with a Switch 2 version still planned for later in 2026. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to listen to “Kiss from a Rose” again.
