If the 45-minute Kirby Air Riders Direct from August 19 wasn’t enough for you, the ever-charming Masahiro Sakurai is getting back in front of the camera to deliver a 60-minute presentation on October 23, 2025, at 6:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM Eastern). The upcoming Switch 2 game is set to launch on November 20 and is a follow-up to Kirby Air Ride that launched on the GameCube in 2003.

The last Kirby Air Riders Direct had game director Masahiro Sakurai, known for the Super Smash Bros. series, go in-depth on the arcade-style racer and detail the City Trial mode. During the first presentation, Sakurai went hands-on to demo the game and several modes with full play sessions so players would know what to expect next month. Somehow though, he’s got plenty more to share since this week’s Kirby Air Riders Direct 2 is even longer.

With the Switch 2 launching earlier this year alongside Mario Kart World, it’s a bit of a surprise that we’re getting another mascot racing game from Nintendo so soon. But from what we’ve seen, it plays quite differently from Mario Kart World, and the City Trial mode will clearly be the standout. That is, unless Sakurai has something under wraps that he’ll reveal this week.
