NetherRealm Studios revealed the Khaos Reigns expansion for Mortal Kombat 1 at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con. Launching September 24, the DLC adds new story chapters and includes three characters as part of Kombat Pack 2: Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot. Three more characters will join the roster at a later date: Ghostface, T-1000 (Terminator), and Conan.

Fans of the franchise will notice something very different about this version’s Sektor and Cyrax, as they’re both female. Sektor is voiced by Erika Ishii, while Kaiji Tang voices Noob Saibot. Interestingly, Ishii confirmed that their character is human instead of a cyborg. Preordering Khaos Reigns provides four new skins: Wedding Scorpion, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Sub-Zero, Empress Mileena, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Noob Saibot.

Those who decide not to purchase the DLC still have something new to look forward to. Animalities are returning and will be available to all players upon release as a free update.

Kombat Pack 2 characters join the Kombat Pack 1 roster, which includes Quan Chi, Ermac, Takeda, Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker. The first season also included several additions for Kameo Fighters, such as Mavado, Ferra, Tremor, Janet Cage, and Khameleon. For now, NetherRealm hasn’t shared who the new Kameo Fighters for Kombat Pack 2 will be.
