I suppose 30 years is long enough to wait between live-action Street Fighter movies. The official Street Fighter Twitter account has confirmed that a new live-action movie based on the popular fighting-game franchise is in the works. It will be co-produced by Legendary Entertainment and Capcom, so hopefully, it won’t be absolutely terrible.

Originally reported by The Hollywood Reporter, very little is known about the upcoming movie. But Capcom has been doing really well with its properties lately, and Street Fighter 6 might be the most heavily-anticipated entry in the series, ever.

This won’t be the first live-action Street Fighter movie. There’s the infamous one from 1994 that had Jean-Claude Van Damme taking on the role of Guile and Ming-Na Wen as Chun-Li. There was also the 2009 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li that starred Kristen Kreuk in the title role. Both movies were not great, to say the least.

But hey, video game adaptations are getting better. The Last of Us on HBO was fantastic, and The Super Mario Bros. movie isn’t looking too bad.
