Indiana Jones and the Great Circle—one of our top games to play in December—is arguably Xbox’s biggest release of the year, and we now have the most detailed look at the game yet with its launch trailer. At nearly three minutes long, the trailer sets the foundation for the game’s story as Indy embarks on an adventure to uncover one of history’s greatest mysteries. Developed by MachineGames, the studio behind the modern Wolfenstein games, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a first-person, single-player adventure set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
The game is described as a dynamic mix of linear, narrative-driven gameplay and open-area maps. Of course, Indy’s trademark whip is central to his arsenal and can be used to distract, disarm, and attack enemies. More importantly, it will also serve as a tool for navigating the environment, enabling him to swing over patrols and scale walls. Players will visit areas such as the halls of Marshall College, the Vatican, the pyramids of Egypt, and the sunken temples of Sukhothai.
While it launches on December 9 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, it will eventually be available on PlayStation 5. Game Pass subscribers will be able to play it on day one or up to three days early by preordering the Premium Edition, Premium Edition Upgrade, or Collector’s Edition.
