We’ve been wondering what the first Xbox-published title to hit Nintendo Switch 2 would be, and now we know: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The announcement came at the end of the launch trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants, shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025. The game’s DLC launches on current platforms September 4, and will likely head to Switch 2 alongside the base game. Unfortunately, Switch 2 owners will have to wait to experience the epic adventure game, as MachineGames and Bethesda only mentioned a 2026 release. Unsurprisingly, the game isn’t heading to the original Switch.
Originally launched on December 9, 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes from MachineGames, best known for the modern Wolfenstein games. The first-person, single-player adventure was a pleasant surprise, with fantastic voice acting and a story that rivals some of the franchise’s most popular films. Set in 1937, the game takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
Announcing a Switch 2 release isn’t surprising, given Xbox’s focus on going cross-platform with its published titles. The game launched on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on April 17, 2025, and was one of the PlayStation Store’s most-downloaded games that month.
