Today, a short Nintendo Direct was held to unveil the final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie in celebration of Mar 10 — Mario Day. Before we got to see the trailer however, the cast of the movie and Miyamoto shared a few words. Then, the trailer rolled with almost all new footage that we haven’t seen yet from the movie, featuring Lumas, Fire Donkey Kong, and more Mario Kart action. Following the debut of the trailer, directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic talked about their focus on making Rainbow Road and the signature karts from Mario Kart as authentic to the games as possible.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will open in theaters in the U.S. and 60 other markets on April 5 and stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Khary Payton as Penguin King, and we will see an appearance by Charles Martinet, the original voice of Mario.

The lack of Yoshi in these trailers makes me sad.
