Gamescom 2025 still runs through the weekend, but the winners of the Gamescom Award 2025 have been announced, with Resident Evil Requiem taking several categories. The awards are organized by the Digital Gaming Culture Foundation and honor outstanding games, expansions, exhibitors, announcements, and trailers presented at Gamescom. As a result, the nominees and winners can seem a bit strange, since there’s a mix of released and unreleased games.

Last month, developers and publishers were allowed to submit their games for the categories of the Gamescom Award, and a jury picked the five favorites for each category based on a points system. The winners were chosen through a combined vote from the jury, fans, and Gamescom visitors, who were allowed to vote on-site and remotely. As for the jury, it comprises representatives from German and international media, social media companies, industry groups, gaming communities, testers from the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body, and journalists.

Resident Evil Requiem was the big winner at this year’s awards, taking home four trophies, while Hela grabbed two. You can see the full list of winners below.
