GTA V sales helped pave the way to a strong quarter for Take-Two Interactive, as reported in its fiscal second quarter 2014, ended September 30, 2013. According to a statement released by Take-Two Interactive, GTA V sales was nearly 29-million units since its original release on September 17, 2013.

It is widely believed that GTA V is the fastest-selling entertainment release in history and has garnered over 160 perfect scores worldwide. Within the first 24 hours of its release, GTA V sales saw $800 million in retail and over $1 billion in three days. In less than six weeks after its launch, GTA V has exceeded the lifetime sales of GTA IV on console.
