A cozy farming sim where a supernatural serial killer starts picking off the townsfolk? That’s Grave Seasons in a nutshell, and honestly, I’m kind of surprised it took this long for someone to make this game. Blumhouse Games and developer Perfect Garbage revealed during today’s Xbox Partner Preview that the anticipated cozy horror title will launch on August 14, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam. It’ll also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Grave Seasons is a narrative-driven, pixelated farming sim that starts out like you’d expect, with relationship building and crop harvesting, before things take a dark turn. A supernatural serial killer begins targeting the townsfolk of Ashenridge, and players have to unravel the mystery before more lives are lost. It’s the kind of genre mashup that sounds like it shouldn’t work, but these days, those are the best games. Grave Seasons has already accumulated over 400,000 wishlists on Steam, which is an impressive number for an indie title.
For those who want to try it before August, Blumhouse Games is making its debut gaming convention appearance at PAX East this weekend, running from today through March 29. Attendees can go hands-on with the game’s first publicly available demo at booth 19049. Blumhouse has also set up a booth designed to look like a living horror home inspired by the company’s film productions, so it should be a pretty unique experience for anyone attending.
Blumhouse has quickly become one of the more interesting names to watch in gaming. The company is best known for its horror film productions, and its entry into gaming feels like a natural fit. Between Grave Seasons and the recently launched Crisol: Theater of Idols, which is also playable at their PAX booth, Blumhouse Games is one to watch if the games deliver.
