Currently, the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer has over 204 million views, nearly one for every copy of Grand Theft Auto V sold. In Take-Two Interactive’s recent earnings conference call, the company revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 200 million units to date across three console generations. As you may know, the game reached $1 billion in retail sales faster than any entertainment release in history. The game is also the best-selling title of the past 10 years in the U.S. based on both unit and dollar sales.

The highly-anticipated sequel, Grand Theft Auto VI, has a release window of fall 2025 and is expected to break records on its release. The trailer, which launched in December 2023, broke YouTube’s records for a non-music launch with 93 million views in just 24 hours. In total, the Grand Theft Auto franchise has sold over 430 million units.
