As promised, Rockstar Games has unveiled Grand Theft Auto Online, which will come free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V. The online component however, will not launch until October 1, 2013. Grand Theft Auto V will launch on September 17 on the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360. As for GTA Online, it will present a dynamic and persistent online world for up to 16 players. Players will have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, group up for missions, participate in events with one another, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community.
In addition, players will also be able to use their petty cash to customize their appearance, upgrade their cars, improve their stats, purchase personal property that other friends can visit, and more. Even better, as seen in the trailer, players will be able to create their own races and multiplayer maps and share them with their friends. Rockstar Games itself will continue adding content to the online game over time. But between the developer and the community creating races and maps, GTA Online might just be what every GTA fan has been wishing for.
