To celebrate the launch of Dead Island 2 on Steam on April 22, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is currently available for free on Steam. Set in a hellish version of LA, dubbed HELL-A, Dead Island 2 was initially released as an Epic Games Store exclusive last year. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the game’s launch on Steam, there’s just a little over two months left.

To help pass the time, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is available for free until Thursday, February 15, at 6:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM Eastern). Dead Island: Retro Revenge is also available at a 75 percent discount. Considering how long Dead Island 2 was in development, it’s an honest and pleasant surprise it turned out to be a pretty good game. It has even sold over two million units, despite not being available on Steam.
