The Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Xbox One will include the entire Gears collection through backward compatibility, Xbox and The Coalition have announced. That means those purchasing Gears of War Ultimate Edition or the bundle will unlock Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment through backward compatibility so long as the game is played on Xbox Live from August 25 through December 31, 2015.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a complete remastering of the original game, reimagined from the ground up with next-gen graphics, recaptured and rebuilt cinematics and modernized gameplay for an even better experience. In addition, the game will include new maps, modes and missions, early access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta, new Achievements, improved haptic feedback and an additional difficulty level.
