Xbox has announced the first wave of additions to Game Pass for August 2024, starting with Creatures of Ava (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on August 7. It’s a day one release on Game Pass and is a creature-saver game where players must tame and understand the creatures of Ava. As a surprise, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy joins Game Pass on August 8 for Cloud, Console, and PC. The trilogy includes Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

Next week, on August 13, Mafia: Definitive Edition will be available on Cloud, Console, and PC. The cinematic third-person shooter is set in 1930s America and stars Tommy Angelo, a hardworking cab driver who gets entangled with the world of organized crime.

Although the additions for the first half of August 2024 are a bit light compared to previous months, there’s always the chance that there are a couple of surprises in the pipeline. If not, that Game Pass price increase looks even worse right now.

Also, the following games will be leaving the Game Pass library on August 15:

  • Airborne Kingdoms (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Offworld Trading Company (PC)
  • Shadow Warrior 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Cloud, Console, and PC)
