The Duskbloods is delayed from 2026 to 2027 on Switch 2, with FromSoftware citing final rule and balance adjustments after August’s test.

FromSoftware has pushed The Duskbloods out of 2026 and into 2027, which means the Switch 2 is losing one of its biggest remaining exclusives for the year. The studio says the August network test showed active interest in the game’s direct combat, strategic depth, and player expression, and it wants more time for final adjustments to the game rules and balancing before launch. FromSoftware also apologized to players who have been waiting, and there’s no new window beyond 2027.

The Duskbloods was revealed in April 2025 as a Switch 2 exclusive published by Nintendo, and it resurfaced at June’s Nintendo Direct with a closed network test announcement. That test ran August 21 to 23 across five sessions, though the first one was cut short after players couldn’t get past the login screen.

As a reminder, it’s an online multiplayer game for up to eight players, where Bloodsworn use their special blood to gain superhuman strength and compete for First Blood as humanity nears its end. When the game was announced, we noted it would likely have more in common with Elden Ring Nightreign than with Bloodborne, despite fans calling it a spiritual successor to the latter.
