Blizzard has announced that changes to Freeze cards are coming to Hearthstone, helping mitigate the control Mages currently have in the game. Cone of Cold, Blizzard and Frost Nova will all have their mana costs increased by one. That means Cone of Cold will now cost four mana, Blizzard will be six mana and Frost Nova will cost three mana. Ideally these changes will allow players to be more aggressive with their minions and will hopefully slow the pacing of the control-based Mage decks. Both Cone of Cold and Blizzard will be disenchantable for their full values for two weeks starting the day of the patch.
As a friendly reminder, the Freeze effect is silenceable, so if you choose to silence your own frozen minion, it’ll free it up from Freeze.
The upcoming patch will also fix a current bug with some players unable to start a new Arena run.
