Sony’s first fight stick is arriving later than planned, as the company announced today that the FlexStrike wireless fight stick has been delayed out of its August 6 launch, citing unexpected production delays. No new date was given. The announcement comes roughly three weeks before the accessory was set to hit shelves, with Sony saying only that it will share an update soon.
In its statement, Sony says it’s “taking extra time to put the finishing touches on the product” and apologized for the delay. Anyone who preordered through direct.playstation.com can check their order status on the site and will receive communications about their order, while preorders placed through other retailers should look for updates from, or reach out to, that retailer directly.
The FlexStrike has been on a long road already, first revealed as Project Defiant during the June 2025 State of Play before Sony made the FlexStrike name official ahead of last year’s Evo. PlayStation’s first fight stick connects to PlayStation 5 and PC over PlayStation Link or wired USB-C, with mechanical switch buttons, toolless swappable restrictor gates, and a sling carry case included, and preorders went live in early June at $199.99.
