Today, Blizzard Entertainment hosted the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, marking a major milestone for one of gaming’s most iconic franchises. The stream had a few notable announcements, including the Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest and a StarCraft mini-set for Hearthstone, but World of Warcraft players are finally getting one of their most desired features: player housing. This feature will come with the game’s next expansion, Midnight, and Blizzard confirmed it will be a house each player can call their own. Hopefully, housing will be more exciting and engaging than Garrisons from Warlords of Draenor, and Blizzard will implement it more effectively than in Final Fantasy XIV, where it’s notoriously difficult to obtain housing in-game.

The team also shared the roadmap for the current expansion, The War Within. The next content update, Siren Isle, is anticipated to go live next month. It will include the epilogue questline for Dalaran and the Kirin Tor, a new outdoor environment to explore, and the return of Plunderstorm. Patch 11.1 will add the new zone Undermine, the new raid Liberation of Undermine, and the new dungeon Operation: Floodgate.

As for the next expansion, Midnight, a reveal is expected sometime in summer 2025.
