Square Enix may have disappointed at this year’s Gamescom, revealing little more about Final Fantasy XV, but the company has shared three new screenshots showing off the open world of the upcoming JRPG. The screenshot seen above previews Restalm, a city within the region of Duscae and draws inspiration from Cuba according to Square Enix. Another screenshot, which shows Noctis and his companions riding in the now famous car is called “Continent” is alludes to the large open world of the game.

The last screenshot shows an eerie dungeon called Ido, with the developing saying “For a long time, this dungeon has seen has seen no traces of human activity.” Although no release date was announced for Final Fantasy XV, director Hajime Tabata did promise that it’ll come before 2017 but won’t be released this year – leaving 2016 as the release window for a game that’s been a long time coming.
Along with the new Dawn trailer shown at Gamescom 2015, Square Enix did reveal less than two minutes of new gameplay that starred iconic monster Malboro. Check out the three new screenshots for Final Fantasy XV as well as the Malboro gameplay trailer below.
