Today is the first day of Final Fantasy XIV’s Fan Festival and in addition to announcing the next expansion, Dawntrail, Naoki Yoshida announced that the game’s already-impressive free trial is expanding to include the Stormblood expansion. The update to the free trial will come with the release of Patch 6.5, which is expected to arrive sometime in September.
That means the Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial will cover A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood, allowing players to reach level 70 and stopping right before Shadowbringers. That is easily 150 hours or so of gameplay that should help grow the Final Fantasy XIV community even more.
