At the New York Comic Con event this year, Square Enix showed off a new trailer for The Wolves’ Den, the PvP arena in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. The coliseum will be home to PvP battles in FFXIV and will initially offer 4v4 battles. Special PvP-only actions will grant immediate recovery from crowd control actions such as sleep, bind and other enfeeblement effects, the team shared. But hopefully Square Enix has more than that up its sleeves to differentiate PvP skills from PvE.

The next major content is promised to be live in winter 2013, most likely in November. FFXIV’s Patch 2.1 will also add Free Company housing in addition to The Wolves’ Den PvP arena and a new FATE featuring Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII.
