Now that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has had its server issues mostly worked out, Square Enix is giving us a preview of what’s to come in an upcoming patch. FFXIV Patch 2.1 will introduce player housing to the MMORPG along with The Wolves’ Den which will be a player vs. player battle arena. The Wolves’ Den was previewed during open beta, as well as housing, so it’s believed that Square Enix has made some finishing touches to the systems before introducing them to the public.

The Wolves’ Den will feature level 30, 40 and 50 PvP with PvP exclusive actions for each class. In the open beta preview of PvP, each class had their own regular PvE actions, but Yoshida has always been adamant on building a robust PvP system that will have skills specifically just for PvP. It will be interesting to see how well Square Enix is able to pull it off.

As for player housing, it will initially only be available to Free Companies, though personal housing will be coming later. Housing will be available in small, medium and large with over 300 customizable features. Square Enix also released a video at the 2013 Tokyo Game Show detailing the current end game raid, The Binding Coil of Bahamut, announcing that no one has cleared Turn 5 yet.
