Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released on August 27, 2013 for the PC and PlayStation 3, and those not fortunate enough to experience the game in closed beta, will have an opportunity to see the rebooted MMORPG in open beta, expected to come soon. In the meantime however, Square Enix has released a free character creation tool as well as a benchmark tool to see if your PC can cope with the gorgeous graphics.
Final Fantasy XIV was originally released on September 22, 2010 to great anticipation, but was mostly a flawed game and didn’t sit well with a vast majority of gamers, us included. Square Enix acknowledged that the game didn’t live up to anyone’s expectations and went back to the drawing board, transforming it to a true work of art. If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise or MMORPGs in general, we recommend you to give the game a shot.
While it may not offer anything truly revolutionary to the genre, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn does take the fundamentals that make a good MMORPG and improves on it, making for a very polished gaming experience. Hit the source link to access the free character creation and benchmark tool.
