Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is currently available on the Sony PlayStation 3 and PC, but it will be heading to the PlayStation 4 sometime next year. Those currently playing the game can only imagine how great it would be if you were able to craft while you’re away from home or even lying down on your bed. Well, that will become a reality thanks to the PS4’s Remote Play functionality, as A Realm Reborn’s producer and director Naoki Yoshida has confirmed Remote Play will work with the MMORPG.

Remote Play will allow PlayStation 4 gamers to stream their games to the PlayStation Vita handheld console, allowing them to take their games on the go. We can’t imagine it being fun trying to do combat on the Vita’s screen, though solo combat play and trivial quests or even FATEs wouldn’t be too bad. Of course the goal of the function would be to allow players to do their gathering, crafting, or even Hunting Log quests on the go.

Looks like PC players will have a reason to get themselves a PS4 copy of A Realm Reborn when it’s released in 2014.
