We finally get a better look at the Fable reboot from Playground Games today during the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 with the debut of a new trailer starring Richard Ayoade. The charming video is full of the humor you’d expect from a Fable game, with Ayoade playing the role of “Dave,” a vegetable enthusiast. There’s a twist to the whole trailer, of course, but you’ll have to watch it to see it.

While it was exciting to finally see more on the new Fable, details are still very sparse about the game, with no hint at even a release window. It should be promising, however, since Playground Games is the studio behind Forza Horizon, the open-world racing game that is a very successful series. We haven’t seen a new Fable game since Fable III, which was released in October 2010. There have been a few spin-off games, including Fable Fortune, wich was a free-to-play collectible card game. Needless to say, Fable fans have been waiting very patiently for a new mainline game in the series.
