With all the overwhelming news announced by Sony today at its Gamescom 2013 press conference, it’s not that we forgot about Microsoft and its Xbox One – we just weren’t fortunate enough to be on hand at their private event. But that’s not to say that Microsoft didn’t have its own collection of exciting announcements, the biggest of which was Fable Legends for the Xbox One.

Developed by Lionhead Studios, the next installment in the Fable franchise will be exclusive to Microsoft’s next-generation system and puts players back into the magical world of Albion. This time, players will go on a journey with up to three other Heroes. Players can embark in Fable Legends with AI companions in single player, play cooperatively online with friends through Xbox Live, or create a party with a mix-and-match of both.

The biggest news from Fable Legends‘ announcement however is that players will be able to take on the role of a Villain, allowing you to combine strategy and tactics to control an army of minions against the Heroes. Even more interesting is the ability to use SmartGlass as a second screen when you’re a Villain.
