Elden Ring Nightreign was one of this year’s biggest surprises for me, only because I didn’t think I’d actually enjoy it as much as I did. Launched on May 30, many players have now mastered the game and everything it has to offer, so FromSoftware is bringing new content for those veterans. A new high-difficulty challenge mode called “Deep of Night” is launching on September 11, specifically designed for seasoned players who have navigated through the Night many times. Not only will enemies be stronger than usual, Deep of Night doesn’t allow players to specify the target Nightlord, and ongoing terrain changes are not reflected.
The mode features special items called Depth Relics that are exclusive to Deep of Night, along with weapons that have multiple additional effects, including detrimental ones. It does sound like what many of the players want, though, because the difficulty further increases as they descend deeper. The ratings fluctuate based on wins and losses, affecting the Depth level. FromSoftware added that Depths 4 to 5 will feature an endless battle for those seeking even greater thrills.
