Released on February 25, 2022, Elden Ring is about ready to celebrate its birthday and Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced the game has shipped over 20-million units worldwide. If you’ve somehow been living underneath a rock and have no clue what Elden Ring is, it’s a massive open-world RPG created by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mastermind behind the infamous Dark Souls series. Contributing to Elden Ring’s mysterious lore is George R. R. Martin — you know, the guy who refuses to finish writing his Game of Thrones books.

The game has been nothing short of a phenomenon since its release, taking home numerous Game of the Year awards in 2022. I like to say it’s Breath of the Wild meets Dark Souls, but that might be underselling just how great the open world experience is in Elden Ring. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, in case you aren’t one of the 20 million who have played it.
