The official release date for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was announced during the VGX 2013 event and it will be heading to the Wii U on February 21, 2014. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was originally supposed to be released on December 6, 2013, but was delayed. Also announced today during the VGX is that Cranky Kong will be a playable character in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime showed off a new gameplay video showing how players can team up Cranky Kong with Donkey Kong in the upcoming game. Whenever players fill their meters up while playing, they will acquire the power to call on the Kong Pow and take out enemies together.
Previously it was announced that Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong were also playable characters in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
