Destiny‘s first expansion, The Dark Below, will launch worldwide on December 9, Bungie has announced. The Dark Below will be the first of two expansions that the company currently has planned for Destiny, with each one costing $19.99 individually or $34.99 if bought together in the Destiny Expansion Pass. As for the content arriving with the first expansion, the Light level cap will be raised from 30 to 32 with new end game gear to allow players to reach the new cap. The expansion’s content will focus on the Hive’s effort on the moon to summon the god Crota and players will be introduced to a new character named Eris in the Tower.
Along with the new story quests and missions, players will be treated to a new raid titled Crota’s End. In addition, one new strike will be added called The Will of Crota while PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 gamers will also get an additional strike called The Undying Mind, which will take place on Mars. The Crucible will benefit from three new maps: Pantheon, Skyshock and The Cauldron.
Publisher Activision promises that more exclusive content will be heading to the PlayStation consoles as part of The Dark Below and that content will remain exclusive until fall 2015 at the earliest.
