DayZ creator Dean Hall will be stepping down and leaving Bohemia, the team behind the survivor MMO game. The team that he currently leads will take over DayZ and Hall plans to create a new studio in New Zealand, his home country. There’s no time table for his departure however, as Hall will extend his involvement at Bohemia for as long as he’s needed.
DayZ‘s community has grown past 1.5-million players, though that number doesn’t necessarily mean they’re all active. Hall reassures however that he won’t ever completely walk away from DayZ and chances are, he’ll be involved even once he departs and opens a new studio in New Zealand.
The big question is what Hall will work on next at his new studio. According to him, he has three new game ideas written already and will likely stick to the online multiplayer survival genre. Hall’s ultimate goal though? To chase the perfect multiplayer experience.
