Dave the Diver was one of the great surprises of 2023, quickly selling one million units after it exited Early Access. By January 2024, it had sold three million copies, and that number climbed to six million as of November 2025. The single-player adventure RPG is one of the most unique games I’ve played in the past few years because it mixes deep-sea exploration and fishing with managing a sushi restaurant, down to pouring tea.

The game’s highly anticipated DLC, In the Jungle, currently doesn’t have a release date, but the team at Mintrocket has shared a lot of new info about it in a dev dive presentation. When it does release, it’ll bring about 10 hours of new content, making it the largest story expansion yet for the game. It promises to deliver a fresh experience, with surprising mechanics and systems that are a major departure from the base game and previous DLCs.

To start, In the Jungle will take Dave to Utara, a jungle village where time passes in real time. He can spend his days freely diving underwater, gathering fruits and resources, or building relationships with the locals by completing tasks and side quests. As those relationships deepen, Dave will get better rewards and new opportunities, including a new restaurant called Bancho Grill. With a fully cooked freshwater menu, Dave can freely move about Bancho Grill, serving customers across multiple areas instead of a single horizontal section like in Bancho Sushi.

In lieu of the Blue Hole, In the Jungle has Dave diving into a massive freshwater lake that’s full of new aquatic life, unexpected cuisine options, and plenty of lurking danger. He will, of course, get access to new tools, including the Jungle Gun. It’s a versatile weapon that can transform into net guns, shotguns, snipers, or regular guns, giving players more freedom when it comes to combat. Movement also feels different, with a more free-flowing isometric view, while real-time progression wemeans Dave will need to be careful with how he spends his time each day.

Mintrocket also announced that Dave the Diver is being ported to mobile devices and will initially launch in China before heading to global markets later in 2026. The game is being fully optimized and redesigned to work seamlessly on mobile. Dave the Diver is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, Mac, and PC.
