Another Xbox first-party title is going multiplatform, as South of Midnight launches on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 on March 31, 2026. In making the announcement, developer Compulsion Games shared a Critical Acclaim Trailer for South of Midnight, highlighting some of the game’s awards from 2025. I reviewed Hazel’s experience when it launched last year and found its bland combat weighing down the entire experience. It was such a frustrating game to review, because South of Midnight’s characters, voice acting, soundtrack, and storytelling were great. It’s just those actual pesky gameplay moments that really hurt it.

It’s also a rather short experience, clocking in at around 10 hours. Much of the game is your standard action platformer, with combat sprinkled throughout in enclosed arenas. Some segments are absolutely gorgeous, though, and the unique art style made it a feast for the eyes.
