BigFest will be heading to the PlayStation Vita as a free-to-play sim game that will allow players to help promote real and virtual bands. Announced during the Sony press conference at Gamescom 2013, music in the game will be provided by Jamendo and the trailer revealed Sims-influenced gameplay. It appears that BigFest will allow players to play cooperatively or competitively in what it is calling the “World’s Largest Music Promoter.”
According to Sony, the game will allow you to create, build, and manage the ultimate music festival and its essence is “your music, your way.” You will be able to browse and select music from a large online catalog that will be updated regularly. The goal of the game is to take the bands you choose and promote them into super stars. Players will have to give the bands the tools they need for the job, and you can even share your efforts with your friends. In addition, BigFest will be using real bands in the game, which means you could indirectly be promoting a real band to real life stardom.
